Frequently asked questions

As a breeder I get many questions, I’m more than happy to answer any and all questions asked when purchasing a puppy, I hope this page helps. And never be afraid to contact me with further inquiries!

Do you have any puppies currently available?

There are no puppies available at the moment, but keep an eye out for our upcoming 2024 litters!

What is a waiting list and how do I get on it?

The purpose of our waiting list is to keep you in the loop when waiting for an upcoming litter, and guarantees a spot to place a deposit before puppies are publicly posted as available. When on the list you will be kept up to date with any and all news regarding the litter you are waiting on, notified when puppies arrive, and once deposits begin being accepted you will take your pick in order of our waitlist.

It is very easy to be added, all that is required is to contact me inquiring upon a spot or to fill out our puppy application.
If I have spots available I will need your name, number or preferred contact method, as well as the sex and coat color of the puppy you’re hoping for. This does not make for certain a puppy of exact desire will be available upon arrival, but helps in finding you and your family’s perfect match.
I do Not do a paid waiting list as for it’s never a guarantee I may have the puppy your looking for once they arrive, therefore you are welcome to back out at anytime before deposits are placed at 6-8 weeks old.

Do you allow visits to the puppies before coming home?

Absolutely, but there are restrictions.
When I raise my pups they are whelped and raised in a puppy pen in our home. I do not allow visits until 4-6 weeks of age.
If it is earlier than 6 weeks before puppies have had their first round of shots there will be no stepping in the puppy pen, I will go in and grab a puppy of choice, hands will be washed before handling a puppy.
It is very very easy for diseases to be transmitted to youngin’s without the proper immunizations. It can come in as easy as on your shoes. Once the first round of vaccinations have been administered puppies will have began adventuring outside and visits to your puppy are welcome at any time!

How do deposits work?

The purpose of deposits is to hold your puppy of choice once spoken for, and once placed the puppy can not be offered to anyone else.

I begin accepting deposits around 6-8 weeks of age unless said otherwise, it can vary depending on the pup and what the little one may be going home for. some require age appropriate evaluations and will be placed accordingly. Visits Are allowed before finalizing your choice on a puppy, placing just the right families with the right pup is one of our top priorities!

Once settled on a puppy I will hold a puppy for 4-5 days before deposit is required but if not given by the 5th day your puppy will go back up for sale. It’s important everyone has a chance for a pup. Once your deposit is placed it is non-refundable. Your deposit may be refunded only upon, if I can no longer provide the puppy to you, the puppy falls sick or is not fit to sell than you will receive your payment back. Payment may be made in person through cash, or I accept Paypal and Zelle. Once your deposit is on a puppy it may be transferred within the first 2 weeks, though only if the other said puppy is still available.
Deposits are $200 and is put towards final price at pick up.

Do you accept payment plans?

I do accept payment plans. However all payments made must be made before the puppy is taken home, if you pay off your puppy before pick up than nothing will be due when he goes home. But if you have not, than any payment made before they reach 10 weeks of age is subtracted from final payment.
Puppy will be paid in full before going home, I will not let a puppy go until he is fully paid off. I’d be happy to hold your puppy a little over pick up date for you and can do up to 12-14 weeks of age with no extra charge. Though anything over will be at cost of buyer. If you can not pay off your puppy by pick up day please contact me and I will be happy to try and discuss something.

What comes with my puppy?

All puppies will come with their tails docked, dewclaws removed, 1st and 2nd round of vaccinations given at 6 and 9 weeks, And dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks.
When taken home your puppy will be provided with their registration application, copy of the litter certificate as well as a copy of our contract, puppy brochures, immunization and deworming records, vet records, health certificate, a sample of our homemade puppy treats as well as sample of the food we have been feeding.

Puppy pick up:

My puppies are not permitted to leave my care until they have reached at least 10 weeks of age.
I hold onto my pups until this age for evaluations, as well as providing their second round of vaccinations for comfort in their safety. It is given the day they turn 9 weeks and they are not eligible to leave until examined by our veterinarian.
When you arrive to take your baby home you are required to sign the puppy contract. And once signed you will be sent with your copy and everything else included with their pick up.
I will Not let my puppies go before 10 weeks, despite the circumstances. I will hold onto them rather than letting them go early.
It is required that puppies stay with their mother and litter mates at least until 8 weeks but I believe the longer the better, and I prefer for my pups to leave as safe as possible.
(You can view our puppy contracts, and applications located in the drop down in the menu)

What food do you feed your puppies?

Diamond naturals

For our puppies here I try looking for the best food I can provide for newly weaned and growing babies.
I have always had the best results in Diamond naturals for all of my dogs.
Diamond may not be top of the list but for my babies it has done wonders!
Ingredients in the soft food and hard food I give my babies contains no Soy or by-products, nor artificial colors, or preservatives. I have always fed my puppies the patè or loaf forms of soft food as for I personally feel gravy filled foods is not good for young tummy’s. However canned food is only temporary until weaned onto softened kibble then weaned onto the kibble as is!

I am and always have been picky with what I feed my crew and their little ones. Other foods I feed and support that I would recommend is Redford naturals, Victor, or life’s abundance!

Can my puppy keep his tail?

More often than not I will dock All puppies tails. Under breed standard it is required the tail is docked if not born natural.

It can be tricky to keep the tail on a pup as babies are taken into our vet for tail and dewclaw removal no later than just 3 days old. And more commonly I don’t allow choices to be made with deposits until much later due to evaluations. Very rarely will I leave a puppies tail on, so unfortunately the short answer is no. But you may contact me for further discussion.

What size are your Aussies?

Standard Australian shepherds. I do Not breed minis or toys, The smallest my aussies get is roughly 20 inches and 40lbs.
But can range from 19-23 inches and 40-60 lbs and can be larger depending on sires and dams.

Registration?

Yes, our Aussies are registered under the AKC (American Kennel Club) sometime in the future we do plan to add ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) as well.

Are your dogs tested?

Yes! We get all breeding dogs genetically health tested on the full Aussie panel through paw print genetics or Canine health check a company also run by paw print. As well as color and trait testing to ensure safe crossing.

OFA’s on hips and Elbows as well as CAER eye clearances are preformed before breeding by our vet in Houston!

Health is one of our top priorities here and the well being of our puppies is what’s most important!

Do you ship your puppies?

At the moment we do not ship our puppies through cargo. You are welcome to take a flight down here and fly back with your little one as a carry on, or I do consider ground transport at buyers expense if able to find a suitable source.

If you would like to meet I will be open to it, I will travel up to an hour free of charge but anything over will be at buyers expense. The majority of the time puppies are picked up from our home here in katy Texas.
But things can always be figured out to make sure you get your puppy!
